it might just be sticky valve guide.give it a oil flush i use a good quality one then give it a oil and filter change using a good quality oil,you can do a fuel additive at the same time.have you done a compression test yet, you are better off doing this first then you will no were you stand.

go buy your self a oil flush {fortie}or similar run you engine untill up to temperature then add the flush in to the crankcase {the oil cap}when running leave for 30mins at just over idle but not to hard revving or it will melt.
do not drive it when you have added it to your engine.then after 30mins switch it off and drain the oil and change the oil filter when hot and all the carbon and shit that has gathered over the years in the oil gallery's and sump will come out at the same time .let it drain for a good 20 mins dont just let the oil out and stick the sump plug back in ,just change the oil filter and go have a cup of tea then put the sump plug in and tighten it up,fill it up with a good quality oil it is worth the extra few quid for a good shell helex 10 /30 semi synthetic is what we use in our v8 discos.the additive will clean out all your oil gallery's and free off all carbon deposits and piston and valve guides and return lost compression

Didn't get a cup of tea but left it for 1/2 hour then warmed some oil to pour in engine just to clean out fluid then filled with oil + new filters also had to change wheels back over lol!
